Founded 1948

We are an enthusiastic group of theatre practitioners who provide live entertainment

for the local community and beyond.

The Society owns and runs the "Fire Station Theatre" in Mosgiel.

This has an seventy seat auditorium, costume hire, lighting, sound systems and of course kitchen facilities.

The Fire Station Theatre is the venue for a number of productions each year.

These take the form of full length plays, one-act plays, sketches and variety shows.

On occasion some productions have been taken to other centres.

In 2014 we successfully staged a selection of episodes of Dad's Army at Coronation Hall.

This was met with great support from the community and we are looking at once again using

Coronation Hall for a major production in May 2016.

Watch this space!

We are very keen to encourage anyone who has a love of theatre to become involved in some way.

Open auditions are held for every production we put on, but we also have opportunities for you to help behind the scenes with lighting, sound, props, set design, construction, front of house, administration and publicity.

But if being actively involved is not for you, that's ok, we'd still love you to come join our audience,

sit back, relax and enjoy the show.

The Taieri Dramatic Society has been successful for over sixty years in providing a vehicle for

those with a desire to be part of living theatre, good inexpensive entertainment and a friendly,

active group to share your interests. We love what we do, and we hope you do too.

Long may it continue!
